The Human Resources Generalist serves as an administrator for multiple core human resources and workforce management functions. This role provides day-to-day operational support across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, employee and labor relations, payroll processing, benefits administration, leave and attendance tracking, and employee records management.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist serves as an administrator for multiple core human resources and workforce management functions. This role provides day-to-day operational support across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, employee and labor relations, payroll processing, benefits administration, leave and attendance tracking, and employee records management. The H/R Generalist ensures compliance with organizational policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements while providing internal support to employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serves as an administrator for key HR and workforce management functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, and employee records
• Processes payroll using UKG (UltiPro), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with wage and hour regulations
• Tracks and maintains employee attendance, PTO, FMLA, and other leave programs
• Facilitates and communicates HR policies, procedures, and organizational programs
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory requirements
• Provides internal HR support to managers, supervisors, and employees
• Coordinates to process employment changes and maintain HRIS and personnel records
• Assists in coordinating vendors providing supplemental HR services
• Supports audits, reporting, and special HR projects
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
• 3–5 years of related HR and payroll experience
• Experience with UKG preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Foundational knowledge of human resources principles and employment laws
• Understanding of payroll processes and wage and hour compliance
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
