Home Furniture Plus Bedding was founded in 1945 when George P. Fleming seized the opportunity to start his business in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Several years later, Mr. Fleming’s son, George E. (Ged) Fleming, joined his team and shared in his vision to offer quality products with a clear focus on customer service. The young entrepreneur, Ged Fleming, expanded on the vision his father created and in 1972, opened his first Home Furniture store in Lafayette, Louisiana. Ged Fleming went on to open several more retail locations in the Lafayette area before eventually expanding his scope to Texas in 1996 with a store in Beaumont. Home Furniture Plus Bedding has expanded in incredible ways over the years. The heart of the company, however, remains with the customer.
