The J.M. Burguieres Co., Ltd. was founded in Louisiana in 1877, originally comprised of three sugarcane farms, and has prospered through the years as a land acquisition and holding company with vested interests in Louisiana, Florida and Texas. We specialize in natural resource consulting, mitigation and conservation banking, mineral interests, surface leasing and agriculture, and are open to new land business ventures.  In 2011, JMB Companies hired a small staff of Environmental Scientists and began its first ecological offset project in Louisiana. We successfully permitted a number of ecological offset projects in Louisiana and grew our staff and services in the process. In 2016, JMB expanded its ecological offset work into Florida under the umbrella of Southern States Land & Timber (SSLT).
