Southwestern Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) is a community-based organization dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare in underserved and rural communities across Louisiana. Its mission is to improve health status through access to information, education, and health services, which it advances through workforce development, community outreach, and direct service initiatives that promote health equity. SWLAHEC works to strengthen the healthcare workforce and promote health equity through community outreach, education, and direct service initiatives, including programs that connect individuals and families to health coverage, preventive care, and essential health resources.
