ULL 2026 STEM Extravaganza

Description

The STEM Extravaganza is a large-scale, one-day academic experience designed to immerse middle school students in hands-on STEM learning. The event functions as an expanded, highly interactive “STEM night” held during the school day. It is designed to expose students to STEM concepts and careers, and we describe it as an educator- and industry-partner–driven daytime version of a traditional science night—only with exponentially greater engagement.

The event also provides industry and community partners with an opportunity to introduce students to their work and give them a glimpse into the fascinating work they do every day.

  • Set-Up Time: Set-up begins at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, May 12.
  • Event Schedule:
    • Session 1: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM (LRCA, Acadia, St. Landry, and St. Martin Parish schools)
    • Session 2: 10:45 AM – 12:45 PM (Lafayette Parish Schools)
    • We expect a maximum of 300 students per session
    • Breakdown: Booth take-down will begin at 12:45 PM.
